A Small Addition to Rugby School 1971 XV

If I might, I would like to make a small addition to Pat's story.

Historically, the School XV's final match of the season was against an invitation side and, in 1971, the invitation side was Dulwich College, the pre-eminent school rugby team at the time. 1971 was also the first year Bryan coached the XV have recently arrived from, you've guessed it, Dulwich where he had coached many of the team that was to play the XV.

A large crowd had gathered on the Close only for Dulwich to be deservedly 12-0 up at halftime. With 15 minutes to go, Dulwich were still 12-0 up when the XV (finally) moved up a gear (or two) and ran in four tries to run out 21-12 victors.

I think even Bryan was satisfied.
